Are you going for a root-canal procedure, commonly referred to as RCT?
If the answer is Yes, then the following read is for you!!
At Chai Pe Charcha, a lot of friends would have discussed it with you, describing root-
canal procedure as ‘scary’ and ‘painful’. But you will be surprised (and shocked) to know
that here at Ikigai Dentistry, RCT is neither scary nor painful.
Now, what is RCT?
RCT is a dental procedure in which the decayed portion of the tooth is removed. Then the cleaning and shaping of your tooth is carried out in a scientific way. The tooth is cleaned and shaped in its entirety up to the roots and then filled with a sterile filling to seal it off against the bacteria.
RCT most commonly takes 2 to 3 sittings, but, depending upon the spread of the
infection, the sittings may be less or more.
TREATMENT
RCT, as already discussed, commonly takes 2 to 3 sittings. Each sitting takes about 45
minutes to 1 hour.
Normally, the teeth that are present in the front portion of your mouth
don’t take much time as they usually only have one root (there are exceptions also which can be discovered upon taking X-ray). The teeth present at the backside of your mouth, called molars, have more than one root and also have complex structure and variations. Hence, they require more effort and time for both of us.
At Ikigai Dentistry, it is done by doctors who have more than 10 years of experience.
Can you avoid RCT by taking medicines?
RCT is a bio-mechanical procedure. It means that for your infection to go away, the pulp
canals in the centre of your infected tooth need to be thoroughly cleansed and shaped and washed with antiseptic liquids. With medicines, your pain may alleviate for a short duration but for a long-term relief, you need to get an RCT done from IKIGAI DENTISTRY.
